life is like a glass of habu saki, you don't know you made the wrong turn until your lost

Sometimes life kicks you in the ass. This deadly drink is called Habu Saki, obviously because of the habu pit viper fermenting in the jar of Saki. This is another one of my animal friends. I like to blame this drink for all my problems in life. While stationed in Okinawa, it was not uncommon for me to consume 25 to 30 drinks a night. One day my friend Scotty and I decided to go into a shady Okinawan bar on the outskirts of Kadena air base. The lady bartender was so happy to have us two fine, young, obnoxious Marines in her establishment that she decided to get us a drink. She proceded to pour a ladle full into wooden cups, scales and all, and we tossed back our drinks. As this vicious fluid ran down my throat, my head slammed into the bar and I couldn't move for about 5 min. I have never been the same since. The reason I blame this drink is because as I think about my pitiful existence, and how my life is going nowhere, the image of that shady bar, the shadier bartender, and that pit viper staring out of the saki into my blurry eyes with my head plastered to the bar, remains etched into my brain like a curse. I remember that evil drink when I think, "where did I go wrong?" and my mind replies,"right here." Maybe my friend we will meet in the confines of some shithole bar on gate 2 street again someday. Well back to hell.

actually, that has to effect on you, other than the fact that you're consuming alcohol. the alcohol kills the venom.

man, it wasn't that bad. I've taken that shot a couple times now since I've been in Japan and my life isn't crashing to the ground. maybe your life already was done before the shot. Might want to check on that one buddy. sorry to hear it's that bad for ya.

I was in Schwabb for awhile. That stuff tastes like crap, but never caused any major problems for me.

I loved Habu saki, I still have flashbacks now and again about taking 18 shots in one night. Though after the last shot is a blur, but such is life!
