ONCE UPON A TIME IN CRAP (1999)

I'm going to share a little story about a patrol in the jungles of Okinawa. Once upon a time I was part of an OPFOR. OPFOR stands for opposing force. My unit was 2 platoons minus, which means instead of 26 Marines which is a full 2 platoons, there were about 21 plus a small HQ contingent. We parked our LAV's in a 360 degree security patrol base, and went out leaving a small security and our HQ at the PB. We had four fire teams go out doing box recons on the AO, allowing us to map out the positions of the enemy CP, bivuac area, and the main patrol base. My buddy Dave was in a seperate fire team, which ran into the Main Patrol Base. They got chalenged and passworded, to which they responded with a high rate of fire and an immediate egress to the rally point. On the way to the rally point, Dave and another Marine Split ways with the other two of their fire team, and took a nice shortcut down a hill on their asses, Dave going balls first into a tree and limping into the rally point. My fire team Managed to surround the CP, after a long patrol down an MSR (which you shouldn't do but we did any way, due to the fact you have to jump in the bushes at the first sound of a vehicle, and there is a high chance of us getting ambushed), which had a COM cable attached to the bivuac area 150 Meters north through the Jungle. We would have stayed in the jungle but after 5 hours trying to be quiet in a wall of bush, we were told time wasn't on our side any more. I had the privlege of busting the COM cable in half before we called out to the CP radio watch, and yelled to the commander Lt. Col. Cody, that he was surrounded. He told us " Great, now go away I'm sleeping." We opened up on the CP for about two Mikes to say goodnight. At about that time our other fire team attacked the bivuac area and blew up their ammo supply, while running down the middle of the line of sleeping bags waking up the Mother Fuckers with blasts from their SAW's. We regrouped at about 0400 and set up a simple line ambush on the side of the MSR. The Patrol base was comming in to the Bivuac area after a hard night of getting fucked up. We unloaded on the fuckers, and they cried game over. We unloaded more. I just wanted to say great job getting fucked up Combat Assault Battalion, I'm glad you never got in a real situation with 21 trained assholes, because you'd have been in bad shape.
